We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, non-denominational retreat center in California dedicated to creating a peaceful sanctuary for healing, personal growth, and holistic living. All donations, retreat fees, and memberships directly benefit our participants and support the care of our land. Our retreat is sustained entirely by volunteers who serve with love and devotion, receiving no financial compensation.
Several things set us apart. We are a genuine nonprofit — 100% of all fees go directly to programs and land care, with no executive salaries or investor returns. Our retreat is volunteer-run, which means every person you meet here is here because they love this work.
We are also non-denominational and non-affiliated. We welcome all people, cultures, and religions. Our setting — 240 acres in the Sierra Nevada foothills — is a co-creator on every retreat. And we are committed to authentic, experiential learning rather than a wellness aesthetic.
Our offerings span a wide range of traditions and healing modalities, including: Breathwork and Pranayama Retreats, Full Moon and New Moon Meditation Retreats, Ayurvedic Detox and Cleanse Retreats, Somatic Yoga and Wellness Retreats, Silent Retreats, and specialized programs for women's empowerment, fertility, and relationship healing.
We also offer Agri-Tourism programs, permaculture workshops, and opportunities for service and volunteering. See our Upcoming Retreats page for current offerings.
Our programs are designed for anyone seeking to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and restore their inner balance. We especially welcome those dealing with chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, PTSD, chronic pain, or those simply seeking a genuine pause from the pace of modern life.
No prior experience with yoga, meditation, or Ayurveda is required. Beginners are as welcome as long-term practitioners.
Guests consistently report significant reductions in stress, anxiety, and chronic pain following their retreats. Many describe lasting shifts in their relationship to breath, movement, food, and sleep — changes they carry forward into daily life long after returning home.
Our breathwork programs have supported individuals recovering from trauma, navigating cancer care, and managing PTSD. Our Ayurvedic programs have helped participants reset digestive health and hormonal balance in ways that conventional approaches had not addressed.
We do not offer medical treatment, and we do not make clinical health claims. What we offer is the conditions in which the body and mind are most capable of healing themselves: clean food, clean air, silence, community, guided practice, and time in nature.
The science of the nervous system, the role of breath in regulating the autonomic stress response, and the measurable effects of nature immersion on cortisol and inflammation are all well-documented. Our programs bring these together into an integrated, lived experience.
We are located at 41208 Hot Springs Dr, California Hot Springs, CA 93207 — nestled in the Sierra Nevada foothills at approximately 3,000 feet elevation, in Tulare County.
We are approximately 60 miles from Bakersfield's Meadows Field Airport, 110 miles from Fresno International Airport, and 177 miles from Los Angeles International Airport. Detailed driving directions are provided upon booking. Please note that cell coverage is very limited in our area — we see this as a feature of the experience, not a drawback.
100% of all retreat fees, memberships, and donations flow directly to participants and the land. We operate as a genuine 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our retreat is sustained entirely by volunteers — no one on our team receives a salary for their retreat work. This is one of the things that makes Still Mountain unique.
