Heal First. Travel Later.

This journey has one clear rhythm: restore the body before asking it to receive India's extraordinary richness. The first fourteen days are protected for Panchakarma at Kaivalyadhama in Lonavala โ€” a long-established yoga and Ayurveda institution known for integrating classical Ayurvedic care with yoga, pranayama, sattvik meals, medical consultation, and a disciplined daily rhythm.

Only after the body has settled, the nervous system has quieted, and the guest has genuinely rested does the group begin the cultural journey. The route through South India then becomes something different: not sightseeing, but reception. Ancient temples, coastal light, sacred cities, and Kerala's backwaters all arrive to a body and spirit that is actually ready to receive them.

The Panchakarma Phase

Fourteen Days at Kaivalyadhama, Lonavala

At Kdham, the Panchakarma program begins with an in-depth consultation by an Ayurvedic Vaidya. The doctor reviews each guest's health picture and creates an individualized plan for detoxification, rejuvenation, and restoration. The program may include Abhyanga (warm oil massage), Swedana (herbal steam), Shirodhara, Padabhyanga, Nasya, Basti, and herbal support โ€” all prescribed based on your constitution and administered by trained therapists under doctor supervision.

Between treatments, the daily rhythm includes yoga, pranayama, meditation or chanting, herbal teas, warm Ayurvedic meals, and early rest. There is nowhere to be and nothing to accomplish. The healing is the journey.

The body heals first. Then the eyes open to India slowly, beautifully, and without hurry.
The Cultural Journey

Sacred South India: Mumbai to Lake Vembanad

Beginning on Day 15, the group moves through South India at a pace that honors the healing just completed. Mumbai is the gentle gateway. Aurangabad reveals the Kailasa Temple at Ellora โ€” one of the world's most astonishing rock-cut monuments. The route then moves south through Mahabalipuram's coastal Pallava temples, Pondicherry's French Quarter, and the extraordinary Chola architecture of Thanjavur's Brihadeeswarar Temple.

Tiruchirappalli and Srirangam offer a living temple complex still pulsing with devotion. Madurai and the Meenakshi Amman Temple bring the journey to its devotional heart. Kochi offers the spice-route history and colonial coastal ease of Fort Kochi. The journey completes on a private houseboat drifting through the backwaters of Lake Vembanad.

FAQ

Panchakarma is Ayurveda's classical five-fold detoxification and rejuvenation program. At Kaivalyadhama, each guest receives a personal consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor before any treatments begin. The program is tailored to your individual constitution, health history, and goals. Most healthy adults can participate; the doctor will advise on any modifications needed.

No prior experience is required. The Panchakarma phase is fully guided by the doctors and staff at Kdham. The daily yoga, pranayama, and meditation sessions are accessible to all levels. The cultural journey portion requires no special background โ€” simply an open heart and comfortable walking shoes.

The price includes 14 days of Panchakarma treatments and accommodation at Kaivalyadhama, all sattvik meals during the healing phase, luxury hotel accommodation throughout the South India cultural journey, all private intercity transfers, English-speaking guides, and the private houseboat closing night on Lake Vembanad. International airfare and visa fees are not included.

The cultural route is designed with luxury and comfort in mind.
