This retreat is designed for people who are carrying stress in the body, living with shallow breathing, restless sleep, anxiety, burnout, or emotional exhaustion. Over four days, you will practice one clear Pranayama sequence twice daily, allowing the breathwork to become familiar enough to continue at home.
Breathwork is not only about the lungs. It is a doorway into the nervous system, the mind, and the subtler pranic layer of experience. Through guided practice, rest, Yoga Nidra, nature immersion, and nourishing food, you will learn how the breath can become a steady companion in daily life.
Sunset at Still Mountain
Breathwork is not just about the lungs. It is a doorway into the subtler energies โ the pranic layer of your experience.
This retreat is guided by teachers rooted in long-term practice, not trend-based breathwork. Deepak Swarup and Kristin English are founding members of Still Mountain Wellness Retreat and have helped shape its retreat programs over many years. Deepak guides participants in Pranayama and its role in health, steadiness, and longevity, while Kristin brings intuitive support and a gift for holding space for deep personal transformation.
This is not a one-time breathwork experience. You will learn a simple daily breath sequence and practice it throughout the retreat, so it becomes familiar before you leave. The goal is not only to feel calm for four days. The deeper purpose is to return home with a practice your body remembers.
* A daily breathwork sequence you have practiced several times
* A simple reset for anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm
* A sleep-support practice for evening rest
* A digital breathwork guide
* 30, 60, and 90-day Zoom follow-up support
* Access to monthly practice calls for past students
* A deeper understanding of breath, stress, digestion, sleep, and nervous system balance
We will examine modern stressors that lead to the everyday anxiety, fear and depression that co-create our epidemic of chronic conditions. We will offer various tools to enable us to take charge of, and greatly reduce, the stress effect in our life: pranayama, yoga asana, yoga nidra, healthy eating and lifestyle.
This time together will offer great rejuvenation and healing for your nervous system. You will leave with a personal daily breathwork practice you can carry home.

A clearer sense of how to pause before reacting
During the retreat, we practice Shinrin yoku, the Japanese art of forest bathing, with a mindful visit to the nearby Trail of 100 Giants, a grove of ancient Sequoias. This is not a hike to finish or a destination to achieve. It is a slow, sensory immersion in the living forest. As we walk among these great trees, we invite the body to soften, the breath to deepen, and the nervous system to settle. Research on forest bathing suggests that time in the forest can support stress reduction, lower cortisol in the short term, improve mood, and support cardiovascular calm. In this quiet meeting with the Sequoias, nature becomes part of the practice. The forest teaches steadiness, patience, rootedness, and the healing power of simply being present.
Your retreat does not end when you drive home. The real value begins when the breath becomes part of your daily life. After the retreat, you will receive a simple digital practice guide to help you continue what you learned. You will also be invited to follow-up Zoom calls at 30, 60, and 90 days, so you can ask questions, refresh your practice, and stay supported as the teachings settle into your routine. After that, past students are welcome to join our regular monthly Zoom gatherings, where the community continues to practice, reflect, and stay connected. In this way, the retreat becomes more than a four-day experience. It becomes a living path of support, steadiness, and continued return to the breath.
